season in Nuwara Eliya thousands of visitors come to see the blooms here.
The number of annual visitors is around 500,000.

Dry Zone Botanic Gardens Mirijjawila. It has an extent of 300 acres. The objective of establishing this botanical garden
is for the conservation of dwindling trees and shrubs in the dry zone,
popularizing of unpopular trees, conservation of medicinal herbs,
promotion of tourism and providing botanical
knowledge to the younger generation.

Wet Zone Botanic Gardens Seethawaka. A beautiful stream flows through the garden,
which sustains the existence of various wet zone plants.

Henarathgoda Botanic Gardens. Henarathgoda Botanical Garden is one of the six
botanical gardens in Sri Lanka.
The altitude of garden is about 10 m (33 ft) above the sea level.
It has a tropical low-country climate.
The total area of the botanical garden is about 15 ha (37 acres)

Medicinal Plant Gardens Ganewatte. Ganewatte Medicinal Plant Gardens is situated in the North Eastern Province
about 15 miles away from Kurunegala.
Being located in the intermediate zone, it offers an ideal site for cultivating a large
number of medicinal plants. The garden is 52 acres in extent.
About half of the land is occupied by a coconut cultivation.
The medicinal plants grown are mostly arboreal.
